Founder and Head Instructor at The Arena.
Shaan Rahman was born and raised in Dhaka city till the age of 19. Following high school completion he travelled to the west coast of Canada to beautiful British Columbia for his University education. A physics and mathematics student till his 2nd year of University, his growing hunger for the stage lead to him to do a 180 turn and enroll at the University of Victoria's Acting Specialist Program. After completing his 4-year degree there he moved to Vancouver for another three where he continued his work as a stage and film actor while training at The Actor's Foundry (where he engaged in coursework that has inspired the mandate and structure of The Arena).
Now back in Dhaka city with a decade of educational and professional experience under his belt, he has decided that the current hunger in Dhaka city for more arts activities has dictated that it is the right time to spread some of this knowledge and experience. He acts, teaches, writes and is brimming with excitement to reconnect to his hometown and rediscover it through a fresh perspective.
Despite teaching on weekends and spending weekdays creating thorough lesson plans, Shaan continues to write and work on personal projects and connect with industry professionals and enthusiasts to grow the love and contribute to the profession.
